Content

  1. Number systems, number representations and codes.
  2. Arithmetic operations in different radix number systems.
  3. Axioms and theorems of Boolean algebra.
  4. Canonical standard representations of Boolean functions.
  5. Basic logic gates, logic families and their properties.
  6. Minimization of Boolean functions using algebraic manipulation and Karnaugh maps.
  7. Analysis procedure of combinational circuits.
  8. Design procedure of combinational circuits.
  9. Arithmetic circuits, decoders, encoders, and multiplexers.
  10. Construction and properties of latches and flip-flops, their characteristics and excitation tables.
  11. Analysis of synchronous sequential circuits.
  12. Design of synchronous sequential circuits using state diagram and/or state-transition output table.
  13. Design of registers, ripple counters and synchronous counters.
