Course description: The students are to be given several weekly assignments; those are actually the term projects of the preceding terms. Thus, this is not only a computer-related class, also a sort of analysis and design taught class. The students no having the basics of the structural analysis and RC and steel structure design, would need more effort to succeed. It is necessary to know the progress of such engineering projects. This course is aimed to let the attendants to compile all the engineering knowledge and judgment which were gained through the previous classes. 

Goals of Course:

1-    Improving the computational abilities in structural engineering.

2-    Learning how the computer softwares (SAP, ETABS, Sta4CAD, and AutoCAD) are so helpful in structural analysis and design.

3-    Having the ability of solving the term projects given in the preceding classes by using computer programs.

4-    To do a complete project of a typical structure, from scratch to final presentation file.

Course requirements: Attendance is the primary requirement of the course, because this is a hands-on class.

Computer requirements: the attendants are strongly encouraged to have own laptops in the class hours, if it is possible. However, the classes will be held in the CE computer lab where the limited number of desktop computers (25 pieces) is available for the class.

Grading: This course has not any written exam, but, there are several weekly assignments and one term project. The students will be paired for the term project and the overall evaluation of attendance, return of assignments, the term project, will be the basis of the grading.
