Minicourse on Dynamics of Linear Operators by Özgür Martin (Miami University & Sabanci University)

The main framework of the minicourse will be hypercyclicity of linear operators and the lectures will be accesible to graduate students with the necessary background and to mathematicians who wish to learn a new active field. Main part of the workshop will be comprised of Özgür Martin's course (Introduction to Dynamics of Linear Operators) (four hours of course total in two days) and there will also be some supplementary talks and lectures by the following speakers:
  Supplementary Talks:
Aydin Aytuna, Sabanci U. Hypercyclicity of composition operators with analytic symbols in $\mathcal{O}(\mathbb{D})$: One variable case
Ugur Gül, Hacettepe U. HYPERCYCLICITY AND SUPERCYCLICITY OF COMPOSITION OPERATORS ON $H^2(\mathbb{D})$
Mert Caglar, Istanbul Kültür U. MEAN ERGODIC OPERATORS ON BANACH AND FRECHET LATTICES
Mohan Ravichandran, Sabanci U. ENTROPY FOR GROUP ACTIONS
  Presentations:
Özgür Martin Introduction to Dynamics of Linear Operators I

Nishiwaki Prize awarded to Yasar Polatoglu

Japanese governement awards annually mathematicians working in the field of "Univalent Function Theory" with the "Nishiwaki Prize". In 2008 Professor Yasar Polatoglu of Istanbul Kültür University has been awarded the "Nishiwaki Prize" for his outstanding, continuous and seminal contributions to "Geometric and Univalent Function Theory". We congratulate Professor Polatoglu and wish him success on his ongoing research.
